Happy Birthday Giveaway

I'm going to be doing a giveaway. It's my birthday and I want to be the one giving the present. It's the first time I've done this so forgive me if I mess up in posting of the procedures.
It should be simple.
Just post a comment here and tell us "what was your favorite gift given or received?"
To earn an extra 5 entries, take a photo from here and post it on your blog with a link and let me know you have posted it.
The cut off is Nov.23th and I will announce the winner on Nov. 26th so that I can mail out the gift as soon as possible.

Oh, the gift... You will receive a set of 6 Christmas Cards (6 different designs), one Christmas notebook for keeping track of cards sent, gifts given or gifts received (whatever you want to do with it) and a set of bookmarks (4 bookmarks - each including the 3 months of a season (winter, spring, summer and fall) on one side and a seasonal collage on the other)

The card set has 6 different designs tied together with matching envelopes with a little twine and 2 tiny pine cones

The bookmarks are 2 x 6 and come in a set of 4 - each representing the season with the corresponding months on the back. Use one for 3 months, throw it away and begin using a new one when the season changes - bookmarks for a year of reading.

Sorry the color is a little off in these bookmarks. It's late and I don't want to redo it right now. I also forgot to post the little notebook. I'll do that tomorrow.

hope this will be fun.

How generous of you!

My favorite gift would have to be the Christmas present my best friend gave me last year. It's a silver necklace with a circular pendant that has an inscription which reads, "Not all who wander are lost." This has become my mantra, and I never take it off.....it is by far the the most special and tailored-perfectly-to-me gift anyone has ever given me.

p.s. "Use one for 3 months, throw it away and begin using a new one when the season changes - bookmarks for a year of reading." EEK!!!!! Throw it away.....maybe they can save it for next year and just cover the back?!?!

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox.

Well...firstly...Happy birthday. You really are living the mantra "Its much better to give than receive" aren't you!
The best gift I ever received was last year for my birthday...my brother travelled half way round the world to surprise me...he just turned up on my doorstep all the way from Australia. Just wonderful! Hope you have a great day too!

happy happy birthday to you!

and many many more.

I think the best gift I ever received was a miniature Eiffel Tower from two of my sisters. They said they saw it in the catalog, didn't like it themselves, but knew I'd love it. And so I did - I had been wanting it ever since I saw it too. :)

Years later, I still love it. I put lights on it every year for the holidays and it's my artificial tree. :)

Happy birthday, sweet friend. I hope your year is full of blessings.

Oh, yes. Please count me in plus five. I'm taking off my Sawyer post and (can you tell my preference) and putting yours on for my Wednesday post.

The best gift I ever gave was to my dad. He is notoriously difficult because he just doesn't want much and would far prefer to be the giver. One year I had a professionally recorded CD made of my Mom singing. His reaction was perfect. Best gift ever.

On my birthday last week my daughter gave me a "lamp decoration" that she made in pree school. That was one of the best gifts I ever had.

Happy Birthday!! Your pictures are so pretty! The best gift I ever received was when I was 20 and it was a handmade lace book my dad made me with poetry and verses accented with flowers from the places we had vacationed that summer. It was enclosed in a chocolate brown velvet case that he also made. I treasure it!
Hope your birthday is wonderful!

Happy Birthday to you!
My favorite gift came for my birthday last year from my husband - he signed me up for a class. The class was to learn about glass by making several glass paperweights. It was a fascinating process (and hot!)

Your cards are beauties!
My favorite gift to give is when I give a quilt that I have made for someone. All the better when it totally blows the receiver away!

What a wonderful idea! Happy Birthday! One of my favourite gifts I ever gave is a small photo book I made for my husband on our anniversary some 10 years ago. It was kind of an "Our LIfe Together So Far" type book and he really loved it and still has it. So small wonder that my favourite gift I received was the dslr camera my husband bought for me two anniversaries ago. It has been such a great creative outlet and now becoming a source of independence for me.

Beautiful Cards and Happy Birthday to you!! Let's see....I'd have to say that one of my most favorite gifts was last Mother's Day, my only child, my 22 year old daughter, took tons and tons of photos throughout the year and had them published in a Shutterfly book which was printed and presented to me at the Lilac Festival on Mother's Day! What a special gift and one I will treasure always! We spend our Mondays together each week and many of the photos were of things we did on our Mondays together! Thank you for the opportunity to enter your contest....I've come from Jean's blog...Salty Dogs editor!
