God doeth all things well.

On December 31, 2011 my mom was showing my brothers and me the diary of my grandmother - written on the same day in 1906. My mom has been transferring my grandmothers words, written in pencil, into digital form so as to preserve it. The original paper is becoming so fragile she shows us the original diary with delicate care. I'm so glad my mom (83 years old) has kept my grandmother's diary from the early 1900s - her written words are so interesting and inspiring. I didn't know my grandmother, the one I was named after, very well because she past away when I was just a little girl but to read the words from her diary written when she was just in her early 20s tells me of the fine woman she was - a lady of strong Christian faith.
In her entry on December 31, 1906 11:30pm she closes with these words:
And now at the close of another year I can write with more strength for I feel and know that God seeth and doeth all things well, and should I live to see the close of 1907 whatever shall have happened may I look up and say in sincerity and truth ”Thy Will be Done”. I could write a book with my sad thoughts, but I must look up and smile through my tears, for my fate is the common fate of many.
Apparently she had had a recent break up with a young man that she loved but in the next year she met my grandfather and wrote these words in her diary the very next New Year’s Eve, December 31, 1907:
And now as I have lived to see another year end, I find myself stronger and may even say content, for now I know and can say in truth “All things work together for good to those who serve the Lord”, and should I be spared to see the close of 1908, may it find me happier and better for having learned this lesson.

I would like to live my new year with the same faith in God - knowing that what ever may be in store for the coming year that "All things work together for good to those who serve the Lord. ”
I hope that this New Year brings you much happiness and in good health all the year through.
