Gratitude Project - Day 5

I am grateful for the season changes. I love each of the seasons for their unique beauty.

During the month of November many of my friends use this time leading up to Thanksgiving as a time to reflect on all that we have to be grateful for - a 30 day collection of photos and words to share. Over the weekend I was enjoying a beautiful autumn day and thought "I am so grateful for the season of Autumn - my favorite time of the year". But it isn't only the season of Autumn that I am grateful for - I am grateful that God created a change in seasons, each so unique and beautiful in their own way. I think it would be pretty boring if we lived in a world where temperatures remained constant and trees were always green.

WINTER for the wonder of snow and the subtle minimalist beauty in the stark delicate structure of the bare trees, a time when touches of color pop in an otherwise monochromatic landscape........

SPRING for blooming flowers and the green world returning after it's winter slumber , the song and activity of birds preparing for their nests, the vibrant and luscious spring green appearing on every branch, and the beauty of flowers all around..........

SUMMER for the warm caressing breeze, the ripe fruits on trees, the ever blooming hydrangeas, butterflies flittering about and daisies to brighten your day, for children's laughter and family vacations and adventures with my daughter.......

AUTUMN for it's warmth of the sun on cool crisp days with brilliant blue skies and leaves blazing in warm tones of autumn from clear yellow to deep red, for the scent of pine needles and dried grasses, of the musty ground covered in mushrooms and acorns and for wood smoke in the air, for hearts-a - burstin' in bloom, and crunchy leaves beneath my feet.........
